Sentences of up to nine years in prison and one million euros in fines were handed down Wednesday in Paris in the “Twilight” lawsuit, a 146 million euros component of the huge VAT fraud on the market of the rights to pollute.

The heaviest sentence was pronounced against Cyril Astruc, considered by the court as “the authorizing officer and principal beneficiary of the fraud”, and an arrest warrant was issued against him.

Among the main defendants, Richard Touil, on the run and in legal recidivism, was sentenced to eight years in prison and a million euros fine for having been “one of the organizers and one of the beneficiaries” of the scheme.

Kévin El Ghazouani, who “set up the structure of the fraud”, to 7 years of prison and a million euros of fine. And Grégory Zaoui, considered “the engineer of fraud”, to six years in prison and 300,000 euros fine.
